"The size of your success is measured by the strength of your desire; the size of your dream; and how you handle disappointment along the way" Robert Kiyosaki
Personal drive and understanding is something many people talk about, infact I think some people start hearing talks on it now and just turn off, but the truth is a lot of it is really true. I think we all suffer from a lack of drive or passion at some stage in our life but some people realise this and find something that keeps them motivated and others slump into a lul of life where they just live in default and not with a purpose. The quote I put in from Kiyosaki for me just shows the kind of drive which we all need. Its true that entrepreneurial people sometimes have it, but I think that everyone needs to be able to drive themselves and find there own drive. Being passionate about work and the stuff you interact with is key and I have learnt that in starting in the workplace. The concept of the pride of the sumarai and the hard work of the rice fields is something discussed by many in noting eastern succes and is something we can all learn from. I dont believe that we all have an incredibly structured, rigid plan for life that we live, but I do believe that we all have an ideal thing which we want to do, for me its ultimately being an entrepreneur and I have a plan to get there, for others it may be to own a school, or run an NGO but whatever it is I think its important that we don't lose site of that dream and goal. We should always strive forward to our greater goal and use this to motivate ourselves going for and not wait for others to do it for us.
Here is another quote from Steve jobs which for me describes work, passion and going for your dreams.
“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. I was lucky - I found what I love to do early in life. Sometimes that first step is the hardest one.”
Take the first step
